On December 12th., 2011, API Mazatlán carry out the act of decision that will be released the name of the winning entry, point out that under the Public Tender API/MAZ/TUM/01/11 and has concerns the award of a contract of partial transfer of rights to use, exploitation and use of public domain area within the Multipurpose Terminal (TUM) and the construction of works and provision of port services in the TUM .

With this, the SCT through the General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine (CGPMM) will be fulfilling one of the main objectives of the National Development Plan to strengthen the national infrastructure for the development of ports and trade. Mazatlan also be placed in advance in an advantageous position to capture the volume of cargo that will trigger the opening of the road Durango – Mazatlan, preparing Mazatlan in 2012 for future growth.

API Mazatlan Master Development Plan 2008-2013 (PMD) is to achieve modernization of infrastructure and equipment of the port of Mazatlan, therefore, was defined by its Board of Directors on opening the private investment opportunity national and international companies and continue the SCT plan to integrate the private sector to Mexican ports for increased investment, development, productivity and competitiveness of Mexico ports need to be in a position to compete with global markets also ensure port the economic assessment and improvement of employment opportunities.

• 2 companies complied with the conditions according to the RULES .- ISTASA and SAAM
• 2 companies did not meet the conditions according to the RULES OCUPA and CONSORTIUM OCEANOGRAFIA E INFRAESTRUCTURA PORTUARIA MEXICANA
